Yesterday I went back to Batu Pahat Johor.
Well, lucky enough my kampung is not flooded.
Well, the road to my kampung is flooded, but we can use another way to get there.
No hassle.
Oh well.
The main reason we' went back there yesterday was coz my aunt got admitted to ICU.
It seems that the night before yesterday, she had a seizure or some sort.
Her heart stop functioning so she solely depended on respirator.
She's diabetic, has hipertension and hypoglicemic too. (I think so?)
So, the whole family sort of mentally ready for such thing to happened.
Well, actually the whole family thought she has passed away by 10 am yesterday morning.
But since it's a standard procedure to keep a patient 24 hrs in ICU to see if she'll be stabil in the meantime, we decided to continue keeping her in the ICU for another 24 hrs.
Not really we, it's more to her family.
Her children decided to continue the respirator for another 24 hrs.
I mean who wouldn't right?
She's their mom.
Who would want to just give up and sort of let it pass without a fight?
But somehow, they say it's a fat chance she'll make it.
And she did not improved after 24 hrs.
So they decided to stop the respirator today.
She could only stand 15 minutes without the respirator before she leaves us.
Too bad I could not meet her for the last time since they do not allow children to enter ICU and my family had to head back to Klang today before her funeral for some reason.
And seriously, it's hard to talk about her death here.
I dunno what sort of word to use here.
'dead', 'passed away', 'move on', 'follow the light'..I seriously don't know.
So pardon me if I used harsh words to describe the whole thing.
Eventho' I am not that close to her,
Still her presence will be deeply missed.
She's a fun, friendly woman who has dedicated her life to contribute to her children, husband, family and the society itself.
She's a teacher by the way.
Just retired.
It's a sad thing she had to go at such a young age, leaving her 7 children behind with her husband.
Still, we know that God knows what's best for her.
And we hope that she'll rest in peace.
We're so going to miss you, especially when Hari Raya Aidiladha is just around the corner.
May you rest in peace.
P.S : Mommy told my siblings that if she'll ever be in that position in the future, she told us to not wait 24 hrs.Just take the respirator off and then bury her. She wouldn't mind.
Kinda feel sad when she said it like that.
Singning Out,
Missing My Aunt Already.
