What If...

Have you ever had those days when you just sort of gave up on love?
When you like somebody after a long long time and then figuring out that he doesn't like you?
After all the years of trying to get his attention and be loyal to him?
It hurts huh?

Or when you dedicate your heart and soul to your boyfriend
He's your everything
All the sacrifices and time spent just for him
And then one day he came to you and say "It's over."
He walked away and never looked back.
It hurts doesn't it?

Don't you just want to give up on love?
Like love was no longer in your dictionary of life.
You hate the word 'love'.
You despise the thought of love.
You envy 'love'.
You have every feeling for 'love' beside happy to have it.
Because you don't have it there.
In your heart.

You left the word 'love' somewhere deep deep down in your heart.
So deep that you sometimes don't know if it's still there.
For so long, so so long that you forgot how to love.

You forgot how it feels to love.
How it feels to be loved.
How it is like to be in love.
How to be when you're in love.

And then you met someone.
You thought he's special.
Well, he's special in your eyes.

Something that ticks your heart.
The comfort and happiness he offers you.
It's something pleasant.
You like his presence.
You enjoy his company.
You love his personality.

And then one day,
it comes to you.
What if you like him?
What is he to you?
Why is it that he's the 'special' one?
Why is it he the one that gives you the comfort, enjoyment and fun?
Why is he different from anyone else?

Then, what will you say to yourself?
Will then you know if it's love?
Something you hate, despise and left long ago?
Will you have the same confidence you had when you first fall in lovE?
Before he left you?

Or will you just tell yourself, "Neh, it's just a crazy thought."
Will you back off because you're scared of the thought of love?
Will you hide your feeling deep inside, bottled inside?
Out of the fear that he might leave you like what someone you loved before so deeply had done?
Then what will you do?

Should you deny or face it?
Embrace every moment of it or keep yourself distant?
Denial or truth?
How sure are you then?

"Never drink, steal or lie.
If you must steal, steal from the one you love.
If you want to lie, lie in the arm of the one you love.
And if you must drink, drink in the moments of your loved one."
- the movie 'Hitch'.
