Call Me Irresponsible

~ Call Me Irresponsible~

Guess What I learnt from the telly recently?
Michael Buble snores!
And this I got from watching the making of 'Call Me Irresponsible', the Canadian singer's latest album.

You have to catch this if you're a Buble fan.
There's a scene early in the video shot mostly in the studio where he points to a nose strip he's wearing and says, "This is ugly, I know."

Now I do not know many singers who wear nose stripswhile recording in the studio, so what gives?

Apparently, Buble played hockey a lot and had always wanted to be a hockey player.
Then one day he got into a fight.
But because he was better at handling a stick that fighting, his nose got broken and his septum became so damaged that he could no longer breathe through his nose.

So, now he has to wear the nose strip, at least when in the studio and I thought I heard him say he wears it at night too.

I like the off-the-cuff things stars say on video. In another scene, Buble talks about how much he hates the photo shoots for his album.

"Why can't it be just about the music, for heaven's sake? People aren't buying my hair."

What I really wanted to know was why the album is called 'Call Me Irresponsible'.

Buble explains : "If I could have a signature song, this would be it. That's who I am. I am irresponsible and I can be unreliable, but I have the capacity to really love. I'm a goofy, sentimental romantic and the song speaks to me." Huh?

But the highlight of the video must surely be 'Everything', which is one of the two original songs in the album. (the rest are covers)

Buble said the initial version of the song sounded more like a lullaby but one of the musicians turned it into a nice piano-driven song.

"The song is very me. Really, these are the words I'd say : You're a falling star/You're the getaway car/ You're the line in the sand when I go too far/ You're a swimming pool on an August day/ And you're the perfect thing to say."

Coming out of Buble's mouth, the words sound so effortless. But then again, with a voice like his, even a snore may sound like music.

Blogger's note :

I LOVE 'Call Me Irresponsible' and 'Everything'.
Now, you have more reason to check the songs out.
They're totally worth it.
And you all should check out the lyrics too.
They kick ass!

But,
You're a swimming pool on an August day
still sounds like the girl is as big as a pool on an August day.

Although Aisha and Bawanie disagree with me.
But heck!

Signing Out,
I am the Perfect Thing To Say, Cause I am Everything.
